The overall aim of the training course is to help participants get acquainted with Youthpass and its renewed key competence framework, to contribute to the participants’ good understanding of personal, social, political and formal recognition of Youthpass and the processes behind it, and to enhance the use of the participants’ learning in their everyday professional practice and youth work.

Learning objectives of the training course are:

  • To support youth workers, youth leaders in getting acquainted with principles and methodology of non-formal education and non-formal learning;
  • To raise understanding of personal, social and learning to learn key competence and support its integration and development in youth projects;
  • To help participants gain knowledge and experiences on Youthpass, on the renewed key competences required for lifelong learning and on developing and following a learning plan during international youth exchanges and youth workers’ mobility projects within the Erasmus+ Programme;
  • To improve the quality of the above mentioned youth projects through exploiting the possibilities offered by Youthpass;
  • To raise awareness on the content and formal criteria of Youthpass and provide basic practice on how to fill it in;
  • To reflect on participants’ experiences and create recommendations for management of future Erasmus+ projects with an awareness of the benefits of Youthpass;
  • To offer the opportunity to meet potential future partners.

The methodology  of the training course:

During the training course trainers will make use of a diverse and creative selection of non-formal educational methods, putting strong emphasis on participants’ previously gained experience and on learning by doing. By giving space to participants’ individual reflexion, to peer learning (learning buddies), as well as to small group and plenary feedback, the trainers particularly wish to encourage participants to consciously plan their learning process and to reflect on their learning. The choice of methods and exercises to be used is a combination of individual, pair and group work, cooperation exercises, plenary discussions, improvisation, short inputs and presentations, personal stories, exploration of the local environment, reflexion, evaluation and feedback. The key competences wished to be developed during the training course (in the order of importance) are: 1) personal, social and learning to learn, 2) citizenship competences, 3) digital competence, 4) entrepreneurship competence.

Duration is 6 full working days.

The training course is based on Youthpass Unfolded published by SALTO-YOUTH Training and Cooperation Resource Centre.
