The overall aim of the long term training course is to train youth workers, youth leaders to prepare, run and evaluate the learning process within non – formal education in their youth work. To develop understanding of non – formal learning and education and its importance in the personal and professional development of young people with fewer opportunities they work with. To create a Resource pack with several useful, creative and innovative methods of non – formal education on active participation, cultural diversity, voluntarism, personal development, social entrepreneurship, etc. which can support the work of youth workers with different target groups.

Learning objectives of the 1st training course are:

  • To contribute to the development of quality in non-formal education with the focus on learning;
  • To discuss the potential of learning in non-formal education; 
  • To help to raise young people’s awareness of learning in non-formal educational projects; 
  • To develop ideas and practice tools on how to support the learning process;
  • To give practical support to document and formulate the learning outcomes;
  • To explore the Youthpass process that helps to reinforce the learning process in youth activities and to highlight the learning outcomes;
  • To prepare, run and evaluate creative and innovative methods on active participation, cultural diversity, voluntarism, personal development, social entrepreneurship, etc. which can support the work of youth workers with different target groups.

Duration is 6 full working days.

Learning objectives of the 2nd training course are:

  • To raise understanding and knowledge on personal and professional development of young people with fewer opportunities through non-formal education within youth work;
  • To raise awareness on learning process within methods of non-formal education;
  • To create and edit a Resource Pack on useful methods of non – formal education regarding to the topics as active participation, cultural diversity, voluntarism, personal development, social entrepreneurship;
  • To gain information and knowledge on Erasmus+ programme with special focus on KA1 Mobility project for young people and youth workers as tools of non – formal education;
  • To prepare common projects according to the proposals of Youth sector within Erasmus+ programme;
  • To meet possible partners.

Duration is 6 full working days.

The methodology  of the long term training course:

The training course will follow the “non-formal education approach”. A combination of different creative and interactive methods will be used by the trainer team and designed upon the profile of participants. Some of the examples of methods that are going to be used in this training course: theoretical inputs, individual/group activities, group exercises, work on examples in a small group, case studies, real attempt. The entire course is designed as a mutual learning situation in which, using diverse methods. Trainers will establish a theoretical framework and common reference points for learning and communication in this course, and they will also provide a framework where participants will be able to experience how to prepare, run and evaluate non-formal education methods. The course programme and contents are organised to allow for the maximum participation of the group using active and participatory methods.

The training courses are based on Youthpass Unfolded published by SALTO – YOUTH Training and Cooperation Resource Centre.
