Culture and Party in Manchester

Tue, 02/05/2019 - 13:33

Manchester is a party town for me. And a very cultural town.  And a party town.  Maybe both.

I have visited Manchester in the beginning of October 2018. The first evening after my arrival I succeeded visiting to a huge party place in order to eat my dinner. My dinner was delicious, and noisy, and full of ladies and gentlemen who enjoyed the evening in sexy dresses and full make up and desperately tried to find someone to enjoy with. I found my hamburger and I was satisfied.

The weekends in Manchester are crazy. For sure that weekend nights in lots of cities are crazy, however I just caught this feeling very strongly there. In Friday and Saturday nights streets are full with very pretty people. Ladies wear high heels and short evening dresses without considering the weather. The motto could be ‘weekend evening: be sexy in minus 20 and zero or plus 10 degrees in the same sexy clothes, the temperature does not count, just show as much as skin is possible!’ Brave girls or boys! And I really admired that even age do not count. You can be in your 20s, or even better if you are in your 30s or 40s, just go and enjoy the night. Several places you can find to drink, eat and have fun with old and new friends.

Party

As it was in the beginning of October when I was in Manchester, just Halloween decoration appeared during one night in the trees of the main pedestrian street. Big, smiling orange pumpkin like lamps sat on the branches of each tree along the walking street. It absolutely gave a fantastic atmosphere to the autumn mornings going in half awaken to work or school.

During a long weekend I can offer three cultural experiences you cannot miss when you visit to Manchester.  Of course, there are several more and it depends of your interest. Nevertheless, I am big fun of buildings, dinosaurs, books and Harry Potter, so my priority was not the footballJ , maybe next time.  I offer to explore the beautiful building of Manchester Cathedral (http://www.manchestercathedral.org/). Besides, the building itself is very amazing with all its decorations, I mostly liked the papers angel wings that could be made just some days before. I am really fond of this community approach that churches represent nowadays in the UK and definitely also in Manchester as a church is a community centre and offers programmes for all ages from kids to elderly people, organising choirs, educational programmes, voluntary activities. And teach for one of the most important human values as respect and accept each other besides our diversities.

My other favourite place is a library in Manchester. Yes, I am a geek, but I love libraries and nowadays anyway, it is fashionable to be a geek. So if you think that Hermione Granger is cool and you would like visiting to such type of library where very easily you can imagine her, then just go to explore The John Rylands Library (http://www.library.manchester.ac.uk/rylands/).  The building itself is more than 100 years old and yes, it has a magical atmosphere. None of the scenes of Harry Potter was filmed here, but you can feel that you are a muggle  here, or a wizard or witch, it’s up to you. Its halls, old books and documents, the bookshelves to the sky, small chambers, stairs, windows, and sculptures all create a magical feeling that you explore a hidden world that it would be great to belong to.

And at last, if you like Jurassic Park, then definitely visit to Manchester Museum of The University of Manchester (http://www.museum.manchester.ac.uk/). First of all, there is no admission fee. You give it if you feel. By the way, any of the three places asks admission fees! Manchester Museum offers you several exhibitions and galleries from archaeology through plants, animals to ancient Egypt.  And of course, it offers you possibility to make a selfie with Tyrannosaurus Rex, at least with its bones. Then please post it to the Insta page of the Museum that you were here. Because it is worth to coming here, believe me.
